Hi my name is Di I am one of the Elysium Hair and Beauty team/family members.

We at Elysium like to help our clients/friends with advice and ideas with all their beauty and hair needs. That’s why we have decided to start this blog.

Firstly let me tell you a bit about myself:

My name is Dianne (Di to all my friends but not my Mum or Dad) and I have been a hairdresser for 32 years. In that time I have seen many changes in fashion styles, from the 70’s slick smooth geometric, asymmetric Vidal Sassoon classic look to the 80’s curly permed big hair look to the 00’s of care free easy going un-styled looks.

Now in the 10’s we find a real mix of these things, except for the big hair thing of the 80’s but things have certainly come around and around.

Products have improved to maintain your hair's condition and create the looks we want. Technology has improved ten fold with better colouring techniques and professional products that have ingredients to blow your mind with out of this world results for your hair.

Anyway I have gone off track (sorry), in all my years I still love and enjoy being a hairdressers, I still go to training. I will never stop learning and trying the latest techniques. My philosophy is that even if I only get one thing out of a training session it has been really worth it.

Summer is here and we need to start thinking about our hair’s protection from the sun, salt and chlorine water.

L’Oreal has the answer; they have a Solar Sublime range with shampoo, masque and protection spray.

It not only removes the pollutants out of the hair but will restore and protect. The hair is left soft and shiny. It has a UV-Protect Filter and L’Oreal have also released the shampoo for colour hair so even if you swim and colour, you will have more protection.
